About Charities Institute Ireland

Charities Institute Ireland (Cii) is the representative body for Ireland’s leading and professional charities. With over 290 member organisations, directly employing over 25,000 people and representing 40% of the overall public funding provision within the charity and voluntary sector, its members deliver vital services across the country.

Cii advocates to ensure that the public, policymakers and the business sector recognise the essential role that charities play in our economy and our society.

Cii promotes greater trust in the sector through transparency and high standards in governance, fundraising and financial reporting. Its Triple Lock quality mark is recognised across the charity and corporate donor sector as the symbol of best practice.

The Role

Charities Institute Ireland is now hiring a Policy and Research Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen interest in the not-for-profit sector and member engagement to work with Cii and represent the collective impact of its members to policymakers, corporates, and the public, building trust and transparency, contributing to our economy, and supporting our society.

Working as part of a small and highly focused team, and reporting to the CEO, the Policy & Research Officer will be responsible for developing policy positions and campaigns, reviewing legislation and budget initiatives, guidance and regulatory standards, economic trends, and sectoral data in support of our values, goals, and strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will also support the development of research projects, including commissioning and managing external contracts and stakeholders and representing Cii at events.

If you are a resourceful problem solver, team player and task leader, with a confident, friendly, and professional demeanour who enjoys a busy, but flexible work environment, we would love to hear from you!
