AHEAD is an independent non-profit organisation working to create inclusive environments in education and employment for people with disabilities. The main focus of its work is further education and training, higher education and graduate employment.


AHEAD provides information to students and graduates with disabilities, teachers, guidance counsellors and parents on disability issues in education. It undertakes national research relating to the inclusion of students with disabilities, contribute to national policy forums and provide professional development opportunities to develop the capacity of staff in FET and higher education to be more inclusive. 


AHEAD is now recruiting a Digital Media and eLearning Officer to join its team.


THE ROLE:


AHEAD is seeking to hire a Digital Media and eLearning Officer. The person who takes up this exciting role will oversee AHEAD’s eLearning platform and work with staff and external collaborators on the creation, updating, management and delivery of eLearning programmes. Working with the Communications and Events Officer, the successful candidate will play a role in developing and maintaining digital media content for the AHEAD website, and overseeing development of the functionality and capacity of the website by external web developers.


Through this work, the successful candidate will work to change culture in further/higher education and employment through the promotion and provision of inclusive and accessible professional development opportunities and resources for staff on implementing inclusive practices, such as digital accessibility techniques and universal design for learning (UDL) principles.


The successful candidate will have a varied and flexible role and will have a great opportunity to have a positive impact on the experiences of students and graduates in further/higher education and employment, through upskilling and building capacity of the staff they interact with to be more inclusive in their roles.
