About our client:

The Asthma Society of Ireland’s mission is to stop asthma deaths in Ireland. The Society is the voice of the 380,000 people with asthma in Ireland, and its work radically transforms their quality of life. ASI’s vision is that everyone with asthma in Ireland lives a full life, symptom-free.

About the role:

The Asthma Society is now seeking to recruit an experienced, driven Advocacy and Policy Coordinator to join its ambitious team.

This is a new role and would suit candidates with charity, social, political, or public affairs backgrounds and at least 3 years’ relevant experience in political, policy or advocacy and campaigning positions.

The Advocacy and Policy Coordinator will work with medical and policy experts and, crucially, people with severe asthma to build an evidence-based campaign to raise awareness about the impact of severe asthma on people’s lives, and to lobby all relevant decision-makers to secure equality of access to affordable healthcare that can transform people’s lives.

Experience in achieving policy, budgetary and/or legislation change and a successful track record in programme and project management are essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the political system and policy making in Ireland and at European level, and the ability to translate policy and research messages for broad dissemination.

If you have a keen interest in health policy, participatory approaches, political acumen and excellent research and communication skills, this could be the role for you!
