Location: Based in Donor House, Block 43A, Park West, D12 P5V6 with hybrid working 

Salary:  €50,000 - €65,000



The Organisation


Founded in 1978, the IKA is passionate about and dedicated to meeting the needs of renal patients, their families, and carers. The reality of kidney disease, which affects women and men across all age groups, is that it may impinge on many strands of a person’s life including health, employment, education, social life and relationships, physical fitness, and general well-being. As the only organisation representing the views of Irish kidney patients, the IKA continually lobbies on their behalf. By joining with other organisations, the IKA also helps in furthering the aims of all patients with chronic illness and improving their quality of life.


How can you make a difference?


The IKA are now seeking to recruit a National Volunteer and Organisational Development Manager. The IKA is a patient led organisation and is a living community of ‘parts’ that work together of ”patients”, family members, volunteers, supporters, health and social care professionals.


With a relatively new CEO and new strategy, the IKA are building on existing strengths to develop an expanded dynamic team of staff and volunteers collaborating to improves the lives of people with kidney disease. Recently, eleven volunteers have been selected, recruited and trained to deliver a new and innovative peer support service. This role is a very exciting opportunity to really make a difference to people’s lives in a supportive friendly environment working as part of the management team and reporting to the CEO.


The key objectives of this role will be to;


• Strengthen IKA competency and capacity in volunteering at all levels from local branches to Directors at Board level. 

• Make explicit the IKA values and culture for how business gets done and the necessary behaviours expected in all parts of the IKA.
