About the Role of Executive Director


Graphic Studio Dublin (GSD) is the longest-established and largest Irish printmaking studio with a gallery dedicated to presenting fine-art print.  Graphic Studio Dublin comprises a printmaking studio on the North Circular Road, Dublin 1 and the Gallery in Temple Bar, Dublin 2. It’s vision is to enhance people’s cultural experience by fostering, sharing and presenting creative excellence through printmaking.


Graphic Studio Dublin is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organisation and assume the responsibility for the strategic vision, artistic development and operational management of the charity, comprising both Studio and Gallery.


Main Duties and Responsibilities


To develop, maintain and drive strategic development plans and policies to deliver a sustainable and ethical future for Graphic Studio Dublin


To take financial responsibility for Graphic Studio Dublin, working within budgets and targets of the Studio and the Gallery, including full financial reporting to statutory and funding authorities.


To ensure resources and systems are in place to support operations and meet business, corporate and funding requirements.


To raise the profile of GSD, develop new fundraising, marketing and PR opportunities.


To develop the profile and programme of Graphic Studio Gallery.


To identify opportunities and deliver collaborative exhibitions, representing all print process and artists at all stages of their careers, in line with our Artistic Policy.


To liaise with external stakeholders including The Arts Council, 


Charities Regulator and Visual Arts networks.


To advocate for the artform and promote printmaking within the context of greater visual arts, through policies, procedures and programmes and towards a sustainable future.


To establish a productive and inspiring relationship with artist members and identify and deliver opportunities for the development of all members’ practices.


To manage the recruitment, professional development and performance of staff.


To identify and deliver collaborative exhibitions, representing all print process and artists at all stages of their careers, in line with our Artistic Policy.


If you have the experience of managing an organisation (5 years +) and  the passion and motivation to raise the profile of Graphic Studio Dublin - to see it ranked among Irish and international Visual Arts organisations and Printmaking Studios and you have the motivation and drive to develop opportunities for sustainable funding for GSD,  while skillfully managing the complexities of this dual organisation and of course you love the visual arts…then this is the role for you!
