About the Marie Keating Foundation:


The Marie Keating Foundation is one of the leading voices in Ireland for cancer prevention, early detection, education and support. It has been 25 years since the establishment of the Foundation, following their mother Marie’s death from breast cancer in 1998, the Keating family promised to provide the people of Ireland with vital information, advice and support on the signs and symptoms of cancer and help to prevent cancer or detect it at its earliest stages. They are committed to being there for people diagnosed with cancer, and for their families, at every step of this cancer journey, and their services reflect that. 


After a sustained period of growth over the last ten years, the Foundation is keen to build on the positive momentum achieved over the last number of years and build further on its impeccable reputation and strong brand recognition.

The Role:


The Marie Keating Foundation is looking for a dynamic, creative leader to join its senior management team, helping to achieve its vision of creating ‘a future free from the fear of cancer’. The Director of Communications and Public Affairs will provide leadership to the organisation on all media relations, digital strategy, strategic communications and public affairs matters and will report to the CEO, while working closely with the other Directors and teams across the organisation. 


This position requires significant experience in communications, branding and digital marketing. A strong understanding of and experience in advocacy or public affairs is desirable.  To succeed in this role you will be a strong communicator who is comfortable presenting and acting as a key spokesperson on behalf of the organisation, you will have great people skills, an ability to engage, network and influence with stakeholders of all levels and have a passion to make a difference in a charity that educates and supports thousands of people impacted by cancer every year.
