About Blossom Ireland

Blossom Ireland provides skills-based training for young people with an intellectual disability (ID) aged 14 and above, to prepare for life as an adult. This includes bespoke support, advocacy and information for both the young person and their family during important key transition steps in their lives. Blossom Ireland works with young people no matter where they are situated geographically or environmentally (school, home, disability day service etc.)

Programmes are delivered via their digital platform - My Blossom Channel. Through a blend of online learning activities, weekly video challenges and weekly group meet-ups, learners of all abilities are involved, including non-readers and those with limited means of communication – something unique in the online learning space.

Blossom Ireland works in a truly impactful way in person-centred practices - with each young people who attends their programmes and also with each other, working together as a team.

About the Role

Blossom Ireland now has an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated and passionate leader, truly committed to equality and inclusivity, who will take on this wonderful leadership role and who will nurture a working culture that embraces innovation and promotes change. They will manage the operational and financial growth of the organisation to the highest standards of service delivery and accountability. They will have the knowledge and experience to support Blossom Ireland to scale, while never compromising on the personal and individual impact they have on young people with ID. They will comfortably represent the organisation’s vision to all stakeholders and reach into the wider public arena to advocate for the people whom they serve. They will work to embed Blossom Ireland’s position as a national organisation and an expert in the area of transition planning for young people with ID. They will respect the excellent working environment that exists, to ensure the team can work to their full potential to develop and deliver the highest standards of service.

To succeed in this role, you will share the passion and values of the organisation. You will have 5-10 years’ experience at senior management level, ideally in an organisation that has gone through rapid growth and you will demonstrate excellent financial, governance, compliance and operational management skills. You will know the challenges in the sector but with a “can-do” attitude you will embrace new and innovative opportunities for young people with ID.
