BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The 221+ Group is a coalition programme of the Marie Keating Foundation, the Irish Cancer Society and the Irish Patient Association.

The purpose of the 221+ Patient Support Group (221+) is to meet the needs of those patients directly affected by the CervicalCheck crisis and their next of kin by providing information, advice and support in a structured and confidential manner. 221+ acts as an inclusive voice for all affected by the crisis but will also aim to give voice to other women diagnosed with cervical cancer in the future as well as to those previously diagnosed but not directly affected by screening issues.

THE ROLE:

The 221+ PSG is now a motivated and committed team player who will play an important role in the development and management of all communications activities carried out by 221+.

The successful candidate will be confident and comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly flexible environment. The Communications Co-ordinator will report to and work closely with the 221+ Manager to develop and implement 221+’s internal and external communications strategy, and to implement the communications aspects of 221+’s overarching strategy.

This is a newly created role within the organisation and it is a unique opportunity for a skilled communications professional to play a central role in the full scope of the organisation and impact greatly on the women and families impacted by CervicalCheck failures, and on the future health system for Irish women.

If you are mature, responsible and considered with exceptional listening skills, good boundaries, and previous experience in communications, we would love to hear from you!
