Polio may be eradicated for future generations but Polio Survivors Ireland is dedicated to supporting its members who continue to live with the legacy of this disease.
Polio Survivors Ireland provides hugely important services, supports and representation to people affected by Polio.
The organisation was set up in 1993, as the Post-Polio Support Group by Polio survivors who were experiencing the Late Effects of Polio (Post-Polio Syndrome). The lack of information available to them about their condition had been identified as a significant problem.
Polio Survivors Ireland not only provides practical and social support to its members, but it also works to educate and inform the general public, the medical profession and survivors, to ensure that all polio survivors can age with dignity and live an independent life, at home, at work and beyond.
Polio Survivors Ireland are now recruiting a part- time Communications and Fundraising Assistant to join their dedicated and inclusive team.
The Communications and Fundraising Assistant will support the work of the Communications & Development Officer (CDO) along with the CEO, in the day-to-day delivery of a wide range of communications and fundraising activities.
The role will ideally suit a recent graduate or someone with relevant Communications, PR, Marketing or Fundraising experience, who can multi-task, in part-time hours.
The successful candidate will work across multiple tasks online and offline, to raise awareness of Polio Survivors Ireland, preparing and designing educational and promotional materials. The candidate will have knowledge of and relevant experience using social media and digital marketing tools.
The candidate will support the CDO to deliver effective fundraising campaigns; develop fundraising leads; communicate regularly with all stakeholders and provide the necessary administration to support these activities.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated and caring team, where you can make an important contribution towards educating, informing, promoting and fundraising for Polio Survivors Ireland.
To succeed in this role, you will have strong literacy skills online and offline, will be capable of flexi- tasking, will be responsive across social media and will enjoy supporting the delivery of fundraising campaigns. You will be supported by the Polio Survivors Ireland team, through training and mentorship. If you love working in communications, marketing and fundraising, we would love to hear from you!
The recruitment campaign for the role of Communications and Fundraising Assistant is being managed exclusively on behalf of Polio Survivors Ireland by specialist not-for-profit sector, recruitment consultancy CCI Executive Search.
