Full Description

BACKGROUND:

At Social Entrepreneurs Ireland we believe that although people want to solve social problems, many problems are invisible or misunderstood, we don’t always have the right solution, and even if we do, it’s hard to solve them at scale. However, social entrepreneurs see problems others don’t, they come up with new ideas to solve them, and they have the commitment and skills to deliver the solution at scale. As the journey for a social entrepreneur is unclear, risky, and lonely, we support them on every step of it with funding and targeted supports.

Over the last 15 years we have invested over €7.3 million in 314 social entrepreneurs, providing over €2.9 million worth of non-financial supports along the way, and pro bono support worth on average €350,000 each year.

The organisation has undergone significant growth in the past 15 years and has delivered a range of support programmes to many different social entrepreneurs. As we prepare for further growth in the years to come, we are looking for a Community Manager to develop and grow our Community Programme, so that even more social entrepreneurs can benefit from the skills and experience of our community in order to further grow their impact.

THE ROLE:

We are now recruiting a passionate Community Manager to support and engage SEI’s community so that each social entrepreneurs’ impact can continue to grow as a member of SEI’s Alumni.

The ideal candidate will: • Live and breathe community and thrive on bringing people together with a specific aim • Have excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster relationships with various audiences • Work well with implementing processes • Possess strong analysis skills • Be a self-starter and strategic thinker, who can balance long-term gains with short-term actions

Ideally, you will have previous experience of building and successfully managing the community. Some work in the social impact space, to demonstrate your interest and commitment to the work of SEI, would be expected but is not mandatory.

If you’re a team player with excellent project management skills and a high degree of enthusiasm, reliability, and adaptability, who thrives in a collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you!
