Development ManagerJob Ref: Poetry Ireland
Type: part-time, (2-year contract as part of RAISE programme)
Location: Dublin 1
Salary: €30,000 (based on a 3-day week)
Closing Date: Monday, 25th March 2019
BACKGROUND: Poetry Ireland is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to connect people with poetry, and in doing so create opportunities for poets. It has been in operation for over 40 years, and in that time it has championed the cause of Irish poetry and poets at home and abroad.
In September 2016 Poetry Ireland moved into its beautiful new home in Dublin’s Parnell Square. They are now embarked on ambitious and innovative plans for the redevelopment of this expansive Georgian townhouse as an all-island institution dedicated to poetry in all its forms.
THE ROLE: Poetry Ireland is now seeking an experienced, dynamic Development Manager with excellent communication skills and a strong network of contacts to help them realise their ambitions and deliver a robust fundraising programme. The flexibility that the role offers in terms of remote working and its 3-day per week nature may suit an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record seeking to achieve a greater work–life balance.
The Development Manager will be responsible for leading the delivery of a capital fundraising and development plan in consultation with the Director and Board. You will be able to increase annual income through creating and implementing a sustainable funding strategy that incorporates Poetry Ireland’s Friends & Patron’s scheme, and can identify and develop further relationships with key potential supporters – from individuals to corporates.
If you have proven success in leading donor campaigns; an ability to engage with high-net worth individuals, corporates and trusts and foundations; and a strong appreciation of poetry and the arts, we’d love to hear from you!
APPLY The recruitment campaign for the role of Development Manager is being managed exclusively on behalf of Poetry Ireland by non-profit specialist recruitment consultancy Charity Careers Ireland with support from its sister company Creative Careers.
