BACKGROUND:

Founded in 1897 The Everyman has been a vital part of Ireland’s cultural heritage and a centre of creativity for Cork. The Everyman tell inspirational stories and hosts unforgettable performances and has welcomed audiences in excess of 100,000 every year. They are now focusing on building their audiences and further investing in the organisation to serve future generations.

The Everyman is a beautiful, 650-seat, listed building and a jewel of late Victorian architecture, which celebrated its 123rd birthday in 2019. The building possesses a rich and fascinating history, and the stunning auditorium is a favourite with audiences and performers alike for its intimacy and atmosphere.

THE ROLE:

As a participant in RAISE Accelerate, an Arts Council initiative designed to build arts organisations’ capacity to generate significant new private investment, The Everyman is now seeking a part-time Development Officer.

Working closely with and reporting to the Development and Partnerships Manager, the Development Officer will support on the implementation and expansion of the theatre’s development and fundraising function, working to achieve ambitious fundraising targets. The Development Officer will provide stewardship support for all existing partners, with a particular focus on the administration of the Friends & Patrons Programme. They will also support the Development and Partnerships Manager with the creation of all fundraising materials and at all times act as a strong ambassador for the Everyman.

To succeed in this role, you will be a confident, creative, detailed oriented fundraiser with strong communication, networking and relationship management skills. You will be comfortable researching new opportunities, creating sponsorship materials and, where needed, deputising confidently on behalf of the Development and Partnerships Manager. The successful candidate will maintain and build upon supporter engagement through effective communication and management of donors and prospects across all income streams, with a specific focus on individuals both nationally and internationally and corporate partners.
