Full Description

BACKGROUND:

Since its foundation in 1928, the Gate Theatre has delighted Irish audiences with its innovative, experimental productions offering an introduction to the world of European and American theatre as well as classics from the modern and Irish repertoire.

As it draws nearer to its 100th Anniversary in 2028, The Gate Theatre promises through a world-class programme of performance to reinvigorate existing work and explore progressive new voices and forms. It is committed to identifying and nurturing a new generation of artists and launching them onto the world stage.

THE ROLE:

The Gate is now seeking a dynamic, experienced Director of Development to lead the growth of fundraising and develop a sustainable income of over €2m annually from a range of sources including individuals, trusts & foundations and corporates. Please note that while this is a strategically important role within the senior management structure of the Gate Theatre, as it is a new role, the initial contract is for 2 years.

The Director of Development will be responsible for planning, developing, organising, and directing all of the Gate’s partnership and donor engagement activities including: major donor engagement; corporate partnerships and sponsorships; developing and managing a Friends & Patrons programme; legacy promotion; and capital campaign planning.

If you’re a creative, results-driven, senior professional with a successful track record developing and implementing programmes targeted at High Net Worth individuals and exceptional relationship-building, interpersonal and communication skills, we’d love to hear from you!
