BACKGROUND: Breakthrough Cancer Research is a national Irish Medical Research Charity focused on supporting research to develop new and better treatments for some of the hardest to treat cancers.

We are now looking for a warm, friendly, and organised Fundraising Administrator to join our small, committed team.

THE ROLE:

The Fundraising Administrator will focus on providing excellent administrative support to the fundraising and executive team. Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, you will act as the first point of contact for supporters and volunteers, and undertake general administrative tasks, ensuring the rest of the team has adequate support to work efficiently.

The successful candidate will work across several projects, therefore, flexibility, excellent time-management skills, and a pro-active approach are essential. You will be a self-starter and comfortable working independently.

This role is suited to someone with administrative experience in the charity sector, ideally in a fundraising department. Knowledge of the not-for-profit sector and experience of charitable fundraising would be a significant advantage but is not essential.

To succeed in this role, you must be proficient using the Microsoft Office Suite and have experience using a CRM database – working knowledge of Salesforce would be a distinct advantage.

Please note, this role is based at the Breakthrough Cancer Research Head Office in Cork. Under normal circumstances this role is a 9am - 5pm, office-based role but there is flexibility to work from home under the current Covid19 situation.
