Full Description

BACKGROUND: Polio Survivors Ireland works to maintain the independence and dignity of polio survivors, supporting them at work, in the home and beyond. Polio Survivors Ireland are the only organisation in Ireland providing practical support (and sometimes more importantly a listening ear) to those unfortunate enough to have contracted polio when babies or young children.

Polio Survivors Ireland was set up in 1993, as the Post-Polio Support Group by polio survivors who were experiencing the Late Effects of Polio (Post-Polio Syndrome). The lack of information available to them about their condition had been identified as a significant problem. Polio Survivors Ireland are now seeking to recruit a part-time Membership & Volunteer Recruitment Officer to join their warm and committed team.

THE ROLE:

The Membership & Volunteer Recruitment Officer will play a pivotal role within the organisation where they will be responsible for recruiting new members, developing active members and volunteers, and providing support to all members and volunteers alike. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team where the successful candidate will be working directly with members and service users, making a huge and varied contribution to the organisation.

To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience working or volunteering in the not-for-profit sector with members and volunteers.

You will be an exceptional communicator who thrives on working with individuals in order to reach targets and effect change. As this role will largely be based from home, you will have demonstrable administrative experience and proven organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload. Previous experience working with people with a disability would be an advantage for this role. If you are a highly effective relationship builder with a strong track record working with members and volunteers, who possesses excellent organisation skills, this could be the role for you!

APPLICATION DETAILS:

The recruitment campaign for the role of Membership & Volunteer Recruitment Officer is being managed exclusively on behalf of Polio Survivors Ireland by specialist not-for-profit sector, recruitment consultancy CCI Executive Search.
