Established in 2000, The Community Foundation for Ireland is one of the largest philanthropic organisations in the country empowering individuals, families and corporates who want to make a difference in their communities by tackling social issues effectively. At a time of national crisis, we have adapted and through the generous support of our donors, we have been able to provide increased funding to frontline organisations and lifeline services in support of their vital work. The Community Foundation for Ireland is poised for growth in line with an emerging interest in philanthropy in Ireland.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Senior Philanthropy and Development Advisor will work as part of a team and be at the forefront of engaging a range of new donors to the Foundation, building strong relationships and securing income against targets.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in soliciting and securing donations from individuals or companies or business development. This could be major gift experience at a senior level within the community and voluntary sector and/or business development experience in engaging with private clients (for example, a background in banking or wealth management). Excellent communication skills are necessary, including giving clear presentations at senior stakeholder level and building an awareness of the work of The Foundation and its impact outside of the organisation & identifying partnership opportunities to build capacity.
