CONTRACT: Full-time, permanent position, following completion of a 6-month probationary period, with a 35-hour working week.
SALARY: The successful candidate can expect to earn in the region of €85,000- €95,000 commensurate with experience.
LOCATION: The Cork Simon’s office is at 4 Lapp’s Quay, Cork city centre. Hybrid working may be considered to a limited extent (1-2 days per week) after completion of the probationary period but would be determined by the requirements of the organisation.
BACKGROUND
Cork Simon Community works in solidarity with men and women who are homeless, offering housing and support in their journey back to independent living. They promote a socially just society and campaign for a society without homelessness. To learn more about the organisation, visit www.corksimon.ie.
THE ROLE
The Director of Fundraising is responsible for fundraising for Cork Simon Community and its subsidiary, South East Simon Community, which cover the following counties in the South West and South East of Ireland: Cork, Kerry, and Waterford. Tipperary, Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford. Fundraised income in the region of €5 million - €6 million has been achieved annually for the last number of years.
The role also involves collaborative work with the federation of Simon Communities of Ireland, which in addition to national policy development and advocacy, undertakes national fundraising initiatives to the benefit of all seven regional Simon Communities (Cork Simon, Dublin Simon, Dundalk Simon, Galway Simon, Midlands Simon, Mid-West Simon and South East Simon).
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and delivering the Fundraising Strategy for Cork and South East Simon Community. Cork Simon works to the ‘Relationship Fundraising’ model as a model of donor development and this has been key to Cork Simon’s ability to raise very significant levels of sustainable, predictable income. It is envisaged that the new postholder will continue to develop this model of fundraising.
