CONTRACT: Two-year contract, four days per week, with a view to extension and permanency.
SALARY: €55,000-€69,000 per annum (pro rata for four days/week), commensurate with experience.
LOCATION: The usual place of work will be in Sandyford Business Park or another designated location within Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. Working from home at appropriate times can be agreed. The nature of this post requires flexibility in the hours of work and may require occasional work in the evenings or at weekends.
BACKGROUND
Changing Lives DLR is the Community Fund for Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown that raises philanthropic monies to help create connected communities and a more socially just county. The Fund provides a unique opportunity for individuals and businesses within DLR county to contribute to broadening opportunities for vulnerable people and communities and so help bring about lasting change.
Established by a group of committed local leaders, Changing Lives DLR is structured as a Donor Advised Fund at Community Foundation Ireland.
To date, Changing Lives DLR has prioritised four key themes:
- Strengthening families by supporting work with 0-2 year olds and their parents
- Supporting children and young people to stay in education
- Helping people to age well in their own homes and communities
- Building the capacity of existing leaders and harnessing new leaders
It is strongly committed to tracking and evaluating the effect of its support to ensure best impact and outcomes.

THE ROLE
Changing Lives DLR has now reached the point of needing a Development Manager to take the organisation to the next stage of its exciting journey in place-based philanthropy.
It is looking for a talented professional, who shares its vision and passion for social progress and a more just society, to join it on its quest to make Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown a more caring and inclusive county.
Reporting to the Chair of the Board, the Development Manager will contribute to the development and implementation of Changing Lives DLR’s strategic plan and provide leadership and management of the organisation's fundraising and operational functions. In collaboration with the Board and working groups, the successful candidate will drive the development and implementation of a three-year fundraising strategy, cultivate high-value donor relationships, build a broad base of support through community and corporate engagement, and ensure best practice in governance and compliance.
If you possess strong interpersonal and strategic skills, are comfortable engaging with stakeholders at every level, are energetic and passionate about social change, and wish to shape a high-impact, county-wide initiative, we’d love to hear from you.
