ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Age Action is Ireland’s leading advocacy organisation for older people and ageing. For over three decades, Age Action has worked to build an inclusive and age-positive society where every older person can participate fully and live independently with dignity.
Ireland’s population is ageing rapidly. Over the coming decade, the number of people aged 65 and over will grow significantly, intensifying challenges across income security, healthcare access, housing, community participation and social inclusion. Addressing these issues requires strong advocacy, sustainable services and credible national leadership.
Age Action works to influence public policy, challenge ageism and ensure equality and Human Rights for all older people. We recognise that older people are diverse in socio-economic background, gender and gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious belief, geography and ability. Advancing equality requires acknowledging and responding to that diversity.
