ABOUT HELIUM

Helium, formerly Helium Arts, is a national charity which supports children and young people aged 6-16 living with lifelong physical health conditions. Founded in 2010, the charity provides free creative workshops in hospitals, clinics, community settings and online, allowing young people to explore their creativity, build confidence and make friends. Workshops are led by professional artists and supported by volunteers, creating a safe and inclusive environment for participants. Helium aims to improve the wellbeing of children and young people by connecting them with creative opportunities and reducing the impact of their health conditions.

In Ireland, 156,437 children and teenagers – 12% of all young people – live with the effects of illness and disability every day according to the Growing Up in Ireland Report (2023). Many face stigma, social isolation, loneliness, stress and anxiety – all of which can create barriers to participating in extra-curricular activities. These children often feel like their lives are defined by their condition. Helium offers empowerment through creativity and the arts, bringing the opportunity for connection, belonging, imagination and joy. Through its Creative Health Hubs, hospital outpatient programmes, community workshops, camps and online activities, Helium works with children and young people across Ireland, creating opportunities for creativity, belonging and joy.

Following significant growth in recent years, Helium is now focused on strengthening the organisation and developing a sustainable and diversified funding model for its next phase of growth. Its ambition is to grow annual income from €1.27 million in 2025 to €2 million by 2028, supporting its longer-term goal of reaching 10,000 children through its programmes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Helium is seeking a Corporate Partnerships Executive to join its Development Team and help grow corporate fundraising income and engagement. This is a new role, reporting directly to the CEO, with a focus on developing new corporate partnerships and strengthening relationships with existing supporters. As Helium continues to grow, there will be scope for the role to develop and take on greater responsibility over time.

This is a hands-on, relationship-led position with responsibility for managing the corporate fundraising pipeline and agreed income targets. The successful candidate will identify and research prospects, build relationships, develop proposals and pitches, and support partnerships from initial engagement through to activation and stewardship.

A key priority will be to grow Helium’s corporate partnerships regionally, with travel to hubs in Cork, Limerick, Galway and Dublin to identify local opportunities and build relationships.

Helium is looking for a motivated, people-focused fundraiser or relationship-development professional with experience in areas such as fundraising, business development, account management, sales, B2B marketing or partnership development. Strong communication, relationship-building and organisational skills will be important, along with the confidence to develop proposals, present opportunities, network and work towards targets.
