ABOUT DOGS TRUST

Dogs Trust has been working in Ireland since 2005 and is Ireland’s largest dog welfare charity. Through rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming, education and advocacy, they work to improve the lives of dogs and support the people who care for them. Their work is driven by the belief that every dog deserves to live life to the full.

Their Rehoming Centre in Finglas, Dublin, opened in November 2009. Working with local authority pounds and animal welfare organisations across Ireland, Dogs Trust cares for abandoned, rescued and surrendered dogs, helping them find suitable, loving homes. Their work extends nationwide through regional rehoming, fostering and home adoption programmes. In 2025, Dogs Trust Ireland cared for 1,110 dogs and found homes for 859 dogs.

Alongside rehoming, Dogs Trust provides training, practical advice and educational resources, while campaigning for stronger welfare protections and a more dog-friendly Ireland. With no government funding towards their lifesaving work, the generosity of donors and supporters is essential to delivering their mission. As Dogs Trust Ireland shapes a new organisational strategy, sustainable fundraising income and strong supporter relationships will be central to its future.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Dogs Trust is seeking an experienced Supporter Engagement Manager to join its Fundraising Team, leading a team responsible for growing income, strengthening supporter engagement and increasing long-term donor value. With regular giving as a priority, the role will help shape the supporter engagement strategy and lead its delivery through coordinated fundraising activity and excellent supporter care.

People management is central to this position. The successful candidate will set clear objectives, coach and develop colleagues, manage workloads and hold the team accountable for results. They will create a supportive, collaborative environment while ensuring that income targets, service standards and individual performance expectations are met.

Using data and insight, the Supporter Engagement Manager will improve donor journeys, increase conversion and retention, reduce attrition and identify opportunities to grow giving. Responsibilities also include managing donor marketing budgets, forecasting income and expenditure, evaluating return on investment and overseeing relationships with agencies, suppliers and specialist consultants. All activity must meet ethical fundraising and data protection standards.

Dogs Trust is looking for an established people manager with at least three years’ individual giving fundraising experience, particularly in regular giving, although equivalent professional experience will be considered. Strong analytical skills, budget management experience and a track record of delivering measurable results are essential. This opportunity will suit someone who already leads teams and is looking to broaden their experience, take on greater responsibility and progress their career.
