 THE ROLE:


The Finance and Compliance Manager will play a key role in the senior team of the Asthma Society, leading on the organisation’s financial resilience strategy and implementing required changes. The person will ensure compliance with all Asthma Society policies and work within best practice codes (e.g., Charities Regulator, Charities Institute, SIPO, and IPHA guidelines). The successful candidate will be also responsible for the creation of the annual governance plan and ensuring that the Asthma Society meets highest transparency and governance standards

They will at all times maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the Society’s audit, risk and finance committee and auditors, identifying ways to adapt the workings and configuration of the Finance and Compliance team to deliver on agreed workflows and project deadlines. The successful candidate will be committed to driving financial and governance performance to the highest standards.  They will draft all of the finance and compliance related board papers. They will also ensure the financial reporting requirements of the Society’s grant agreements are met.


To succeed in this role, you will have at least 5 years relevant PQE in management accounting and operational management of a charity or business. Experience of SORP-compliant reporting. You will be a fully qualified member of an internationally recognised accounting body. You will be experienced in reporting to a Board of Directors  and will be capable of working well with committees and directly with the CEO. You will have a strong track record of leading a team and delivering results.
