About the Role
Age Action Ireland is now seeking a Communications and Engagement Officer to join their committed and passionate team and support the promotion of Age Action’s advocacy and public affairs to external audiences to encourage participation.
All Age Action’s programmes and advocacy must be shaped by those who are most affected by the issues it works on. This exciting, new role will play a central part in developing Age Action’s approach to working in partnership with older people to develop its work and achieve change.
Key duties will include:
• Developing a diverse advocacy network of older people that will inform and influence Age Action’s advocacy and public affairs work.
• Supporting the involvement of older people in a range of advocacy activities including project development, external media work and campaigning
• Being the main point of contact for the U3A Network, maintaining relationships, co-ordinate information dissemination and promote development of activities within the U3A network
• Supporting Age Action’s older stakeholders to tell their stories to the media through training and mentoring
• Supporting the drafting and publication of influencing materials such as parliamentary briefings, blogs, speeches and parliamentary questions to help engage policy maker audiences effectively
