SALARY:  €55,000 - €60,000

LOCATION:  A blend of working from Dogs Trust, Head Office in Finglas, Dublin 9 (1 – 2 days per week) and working remotely.

BACKGROUND:

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in Ireland. Their Rehoming Centre is in Dublin but thanks to their Regional Rehoming program, they can rehome dogs all over Ireland without the need for adopters to travel to Dublin.  Last year, Dogs Trust Ireland rehomed over 1,000 dogs; they never put a healthy dog down.

THE ROLE:

Dogs Trust are now seeking an ambitious Philanthropy Manager to join their passionate fundraising team to manage and grow the philanthropy (major donor) income stream.

The Philanthropy Manager will develop and deliver a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey for major donors and will work with the Head of Development and across the Dogs Trust team to create high-quality cases for support for all priority projects that are suitable for our high-value audiences.

To succeed in this role, you will have strong business development skills and experience of developing relationships and securing income, ideally from major donors.  You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to put together and deliver inspiring, emotive, and accurate proposals and pitches. You will manage a team of two, therefore, leadership and good interpersonal skills are also required including the ability to motivate people to work towards and meet targets. You will genuinely believe in the importance of the work of Dogs Trust, and you will not be afraid to seize the moment and use creative approaches to nurture relationships with donors.

If you’re a natural networker and passionate dog lover who is target-driven and keen to develop your career with an ambitious not-for-profit organisation that strives to make a real difference to the lives of animals, this could be the role for you!
